Edgebana
Our annual tournament event Edgebana returned in 2024!
The event includes Open Mixed Longsword, URG (sometimes called “Women+”) Longsword, Open Mixed Singlestick, and an invitational Franco-Belgian style competition
The event will take place again on the 27th & 28th of September 2025. Full details, including rules and equipment requirements, can be found on the Facebook event page here
Judging
High quality judging is very important to us; there’s little point holding a competition if the results aren’t captured accurately.
There will be two “full time” referees conducting bouts at the event, each with over a decade of HEMA judging experience. Additional referees will be personally vetted by the event organisers, and secondary judges have received comprehensive training and advice to be as effective as possible.
Software
In modern HEMA, software can make the experience much smoother for event organisers and attendees both.

The results of our Open Longsword, URG Longsword, and Open Singlestick tournaments will all be uploaded to HEMA Ratings
