Practice Historical European Martial Arts in Dundee
The Institute for Historical Arts is a Dundee-based historical European martial arts club that is focused on working with the local community to give a well structured activity to Dundee and the surrounding area.
We mainly study German Longsword as described in the Starhemberg Fechtbuch (“Pseudo-Peter Von Danzig”) and in Joachim Meyer’s 1570 book “Thorough Descriptions of the Art of Fencing” but also occasionally teach lessons on other systems.
We are recognised on the international competition circuit and regularly send our more advanced members to compete in tournaments within the UK and Europe.
